Q. What types of hotels can I choose from?

Motivation Advantage has selected resorts and hotels managed by such reliable names as Wyndham, Marriott, Sheraton, Radisson, Choice and Holiday Inn as well as many up scale independent hotels. Click on the Hotels & Resorts page for more detailed information.

Q. How do I decide where to go and when?

You will receive a packet of information that includes the list of hotels and resorts from which you can choose. When you select your hotel destination and the dates you want to go, just complete the Vacation Request form and mail or fax it to us at least 28 days in advance of your earliest requested arrival date.

Q. Are there are age requirements for booking travel?

Yes, at least one member of the party must be at least 21 years old.

Q. Do I have a choice of type of accommodation?
Yes, most hotels and resorts offer King, Queen or two Double beds in standard accommodations.

Q. Can I use the voucher for group travel?

The vouchers were designed for individual family travel and are not intended for groups due to contractual obligations with the hotels and resorts. There is a maximum of 2 vacation vouchers from the same allotment allowed on the same date at the same property.

Q. If I have special needs, i.e., handicapped access, special diet, etc., can this be accommodated?

Yes, just attach a note with your Vacation Request form with your specific requirements and our reservation agents will make all the necessary arrangements.

Q. Do I have to give 28 days notice?

Yes. This time period is required to ensure that all requests are processed correctly by the hotel or resort. Any request with less than 28 days notice will not be honored. Also, please do not send in your request more than six months in advance of your requested dates.

Q. Does the vacation advantage voucher expire?

Yes. Please see your voucher for the expiration date. In general, however, your vacation voucher is valid for one year.

Q. How many people can occupy one room?

The vacation advantage is valid for two adults and up to two children staying in the same hotel room. There may be an additional charge for a roll-away bed or crib. Our reservation agents will gladly assist you with any special arrangements needed.

Q. What if I want to bring extra people with me?

Our reservation agents will be happy to book accommodations for the extra travelers at the lowest available rates at the hotel or resort you selected at your cost.

Q. Does the vacation advantage voucher include airfare?

No. Airfare is not included. The vacation advantage packages are designed to be drive-away vacations, which is the reason why there are so many destinations from which to choose. If you prefer to fly to a destination, however, our reservation agents can arrange flights at an additional cost to you.

Q. Are there any hidden charges?

No. There are no deposits required and all charges for the accommodations and taxes have been pre-paid for you. Of course, you will be responsible for any incidental charges and meals not included in the package.

There are a few resorts that may assess a resort fee with your incidental charges that you will also be responsible for paying. This resort fee is particular to that resort and generally ranges from $2 to $10 a day. If a 2-day Cruise Advantage is awarded in conjunction with the Hotel & Resort vacation, port charges, government taxes and any on-board charges are the responsibility of the traveler.

Q. Will I have to sit through or listen to a sales presentation during my vacation?

No. We only use commercially available hotels and resorts for your vacation accommodations. There are no requirements, or even a request, to attend any land sales, time-sharing, or any other sales presentations in order to take advantage of your vacation reward.

Q. What if I can't go on the dates I've selected for my vacation?

The vacation voucher is fully transferable, so you may give it to a friend or family member, or you may change your reservation up to 8 days prior to the arrival date for a $50 change fee. Changes and cancellations less than 7 days prior to check-in date will result in a voided voucher and no refund will be issued. If the reservation is confirmed and you do not arrive for your stay, the voucher will be voided. There are a few resorts that may require cancellations more than 8 days prior to your arrival date (generally in high season); our reservation agents will fully advise you of the cancellation requirements if you select one of these resorts.

Q. Are there any blackout periods?

We do not impose any blackout periods on the use of your vacation advantage voucher; however, the voucher is based on hotel and resort availability. Some hotels and resorts are fully booked months in advance of popular holidays or special local events. We will contact you if the hotel or resort you selected is unavailable for your requested dates.

Q. Do I need a passport?

With the phasing in of new U.S. Immigration laws, passports are required to enter or re-enter the United States. Passports are required for travel to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Central and South America beginning in 2006. Passports are required for Canada and Mexico beginning in 2007.

U.S. citizens who travel to a country where a valid passport is not required will need documentary evidence of their U.S. citizenship and identity. Proof of U.S. citizenship includes a valid or expired U.S. passport, a certified (original) birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States. To prove identity, a valid driver's license or government identification card is acceptable provided they identify you by physical description or photograph. However, for travel overseas and to facilitate reentry into the U.S., a valid U.S. passport is the best documentation available and unquestionably proves your U.S. citizenship.

Some countries require that your U.S. passport be valid at least six months or longer beyond the dates of your trip. If your passport expires before the required validity, you will have to apply for a new one. Please check with the embassy or nearest consulate of the country that you plan to visit for their requirements.

Q. Are there any other documents required?

If you are traveling to Mexico, a notarized letter of consent from parent(s) is required for children under age 18 traveling alone, with one parent, or in someone else's custody. Ask your reservations agent for more details.
